Pelosi is Now Talking with the Dead: She ‘Swears’ that the Spirit of Susan B. Anthony Spoke to Her in White House

CNS News reported that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) told a recent gathering of the “We Power” Women’s Political Committee that the spirits of suffragists Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Alice Paul spoke to her at the White House.  [1] Pelosi said she heard them say: “At last we have a seat at the table”.  A video recently posted on Youtube shows Pelosi speaking in May describing her first meeting with President Bush in the White House after becoming part of the Democratic House leadership.  [1]  In the video Pelosi says, “He’s (Bush) saying something to the effect of we’re so glad to welcome you here, congratulations and I know you’ll probably have some different things to say about what is going on–which is correct. But, as he was saying this, he was fading and this other thing was happening to me.”  My chair was getting crowded in,” said Pelosi. “I swear this happened, never happened before, it never happened since.”  “My chair was getting crowded in and I couldn’t figure out what it was, it was like this,” she said.  “And then I realized Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, Alice Paul, Sojourner Truth, you name it, they were all in that chair, they were,” said Pelosi. “More than I named and I could hear them say: ‘At last we have a seat at the table.’ And then they were gone.”  [1] This was not the only time Pelosi has told this story. On June 6 of this year she told it during an event celebrating her 25 years of political service.  Pelosi has also told the story when speaking at colleges, including at Trinity Washington University’s commencement on May 20, 2012. Pelosi’s website contains a transcript of the tale as related in her 2005 commencement address at Goucher College in Baltimore. [1] [3] Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were activists in the women’s rights movement during the mid to late 1800’s. The Susan B. Anthony List, which works for pro-life women’s leadership in government, uses her as a namesake. The organization claims Anthony and Stanton were strong pro-life supporters.

nancy-pelosi-susan-b-anthonNancy Pelosi’s experience places her into an exclusive group that includes former first lady Hillary Clinton who, while living in the White House, regularly communed with Eleanor Roosevelt and Mahatma Gandhi.  [2] And now, we come to find out that our “feminist foremothers” wanted a seat at the table with none other than Nancy Pelosi.  Could it be that they wanted not to sit with Nancy, but to push her off the seat?  [2] Just for the record, all of the women cited by Pelosi are icons of the feminist movement – though history shows many of them would have rejected outright the radical notions of modern feminism. [9]  Jeannie DeAngelis from American Thinker made the case for this hypothesis:

Although Mrs. Pelosi deduced that the forerunners of feminism speaking to her from the grave was a supernatural affirmation of her views and the liberal thrust of the Democrat Party she represents, she’s dead wrong.  It’s very possible that the message these champions of women’s rights wanted to deliver would be more properly directed toward pro-choice Pelosi, rather than pro-life Bush, because the women Nancy claimed had whispered in her ear were, unlike herself, all “pro-women, pro-life.” [2]

Joseph Farah at World Net Daily asked: “Is Nancy Pelosi ready for the psych ward? Does she need an exorcist?”  [9] Maybe she is…  He continued:

It’s considered a very serious thing when people hear voices. It’s often a sign of a very serious mental or emotional breakdown. Has anyone asked Pelosi if she checked herself in for a medical examination as a result of this experience? Or are we to just accept as fact that the disembodied spirits of long-dead women heroes all decided to sit in Pelosi’s chair at the same time when she was visiting the White House? Had Pelosi had anything to drink that day? These are the kinds of questions reporters should be asking her – the former speaker of the House of Representatives and the current House minority leader. It’s quite possible she’s under demonic delusion, given the circumstances she relates. That’s a serious thing. It’s not just a laughing matter.  I’ve always believed Pelosi was in serious need of help – I just didn’t realize the kind of help she needed until now. [9]

But did she really “speak” to these dead women? asked Brian Johnson for The Right Persepctive. He then answered his own question :

I’d have to say no.  Especially since the leaders of the women’s suffrage movement were Republicans. But I do think that it illustrates the length that these people will go to in making crap up, and how absolutely stupid and gullible they think that most of us are in thinking that we believe it. It’s frickin’ vaudeville and snake-oil salesmen!  [10]

We will probably never know whether or not she really talked to the spirits but we do know that Democrats are far more in touch with the dead than Republicans, and they also visit fortunetellers more often.  The number of Americans who say they have interacted with a ghost has doubled in the last 13 years, the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life revealed in its “Many Americans Mix Multiple Faiths” report.  Approximately 18 percent of respondents said they have seen or been in the presence of a ghost, compared with only 9 percent in 1990 and 1996. Likewise, 29 percent of respondents felt that they had been in touch with someone who has already died, compared with 17 percent in 1990 and 18 percent in 1996. The results also show that Democrats are far more likely to believe in supernatural phenomena than Republicans. “Conservatives and Republicans report fewer experiences than liberals or Democrats communicating with the dead, seeing ghosts and consulting fortunetellers or psychics,” Pew reported. [10] [13]

According to the study:

36 percent of Democrats report being in touch with someone who is dead, compared with only 21 percent of Republicans.
21 percent of Democrats say they have seen a ghost, compared with only 11 percent of Republicans.
22 percent of Democrats say they have consulted a fortuneteller, compared with 9 percent of Republicans.
30 percent of Democrats say they believe in reincarnation, compared with 17 percent of Republicans.
31 percent of Democrats say they believe in astrology, compared with 14 percent of Republicans.
31 percent of Democrats view yoga as a spiritual practice, compared with 15 percent of Republicans.
30 percent of Democrats say they believe in spiritual energy, compared with 17 percent of Republicans.

About Stoneout DeBrowning

Stoneout deBrowning is a former dropout from Ville-Vanier Quebec, Canada who lived the live style of a perfect "Cultural Marxist" for almost 35 years. Then, after doing some research into politics he discovered the real agenda of the "left" and he didn't like it very much. To make the story short, the man had a "conservative awakening" and now he is back with a vengence.
