Using the bathroom definitely makes one feel lighter. Have you ever wondered how much weight you lost after using the bathroom? Well now you can know. [1] Folks, you can’t make this stuff up. Some people apparently feel so much lighter that they want to know how much weight they lost after relieving themselves. Believe it or not there is now an invention that’ll let you share your pooping prowess with your buddies. [8] A toilet seat with a built-in scale. No shit! That way, you can give your friend an exact measurement of the weight you lost without needing to actually show them the unholy brown monster excreted from your intestines. Plus, the toilet seat scale will allow you and your friends to compare your dumps, adding a whole new level of exciting competitiveness to bathroom time. [8] It is the Designer Haikun Deng who first came up with the idea of combining the toilet seat with a built-in digital scale. According to AdWeek, Deng’s original idea was for a product to help “women grappling with self-image problems.”[3] [8] Presumably, Deng thought that women (but apparently not men) who are having weight-related self-esteem issues would benefit greatly from seeing the weight literally shed off every time they go number two. [8] The toilet seat seemed to be a product that will make people feel good after every use. “The need to feel skinny is satisfied every time they finish using the bathroom,” Deng said. The toilet seat scale weighs the person as soon as they sit down and then again when they are done, leading the person to see real weight loss results instantly. [1] Haikun Deng believes that women will go for it. [7] This is actually an old idea (like, from 1922) that’s never caught on. But despite the niche audience, we hope it finally goes into production, if for no other reason than the potential ad slogans like, “Don’t frown. Flush it down!” [3]
