Gary Kasparov, the greatest mind that chess has ever known, has a few things to say about socialism. Turns out he’s not a fan. Most brilliant people aren’t. Especially those who’ve actually lived under the thumb of oppressive government. No, BlackLivesMatter we’re not talking about too many white people in the library, we’re talking USSR-wrestling-bears-for-toilet-paper-style oppression. Real oppression. He took to Facebook to share his frustration, and it’s more than worth the read.
The former world champ offers a sound warning to Americans. He should know, he’s lived it. By the way, “Socialism sounds great in speech soundbites and on Facebook” rings eerily similar to a sentiment I’ve expressed here at LwC (read Why True Conservatism Will Never Be a Bumper Sticker Slogan).
Bernie Sanders, like most socialists, wants to make the United States into Europe. To that I say no thanks. We don’t want all that rape over here (Surprise! German Refugee Numbers Rise… And so do Rape Cases). Also, we should be proud of America’s stark contrast against those European knobs across the pond. We’re better than Europe. That’s why we kicked their ass and walked away laughing. Wasn’t the whole point of our country’s inception to get away from those wackos and their bad ideas? Also, the United States doesn’t have the rape pandemic facing Europe as it entirely crumbles due to the multiculturalist propaganda that inevitably stems from socialist pandering (read “Sweden Now Officially The Rape Capital of the West” here). The point here is that the qualities that make America great are all things that countries in Europe don’t possess. I know it, you know it, Garry knows it, so who’s out of the loop? Well… socialists. And consequentially, most, if not dangerously close to all, of the Democratic party. At the end of the day, a lot of it boils down to capitalism. It’s downright refreshing, and maybe even a teenie bit encouraging, to see an intellectual titan like Kasparov openly acknowledge that. Alright, it’s also really awesome and worth geeking out over. Come on, he obliterated Bernie Sander’s puny life’s work in a Facebook post.
