Presidential candidate and billionaire Donald Trump is no stranger to being ridiculed. However, one Oregon artist, Sarah Levy, may have finally gone too far in her attempt to poke fun at “The Donald.” The painting, somewhat laughably titled “Whatever,” features the Republican candidate striking a very famous, and very red, pose. She talked to BuzzFeed News about the reasoning behind the blood-soaked depiction:
That he thinks he can bring up the healthy functioning of women’s reproductive systems to insult women’s intelligence is a big problem that I think needs to be called out. [3]
Sarah, from Portland, Oregon, drew from two of Trump’s biggest campaign blunders to create her masterpiece – ‘Whatever’. The first was when he called Mexican migrants in the US ‘rapists’ and ‘drug dealers’, which he proclaimed literally as soon as he announced his presidency. The second was after the first GOP debate, when he implied Fox News host Megyn Kelly was being tough on him because she was on her period. [5]
Just two days after the painting appeared on Levy’s Facebook page, the image has gone viral, drawing hundred of sympathetic supporters from all over the world to not only share the painting on social media, but who are also willing to make donations to help Levy convert “Whatever” into a full-fledged project. [16] She said she’s considering making more paintings, including one of the reality TV star’s hair. “I still have more blood so thinking of doing a few more portraits until I run out,” Levy told Huffington Post. [4] Sarah Levy is selling the painting and donating the proceeds to an immigrants’ rights organization, as an extra insult directed against Trump. [3] The bright red luster of the original painting has, according to Levy, faded to brown in the days since she created it.
