In the October 1967 edition of Foreigh Affairs (the publication of the Council on Foreign Relations), then president Nixon said that, “The developing coherence of Asian regional thinking is reflected in a disposition to consider problems and loyalties in egional terms, and to evolve regional approaches to development needs and to the evolution of a New World Order.” In article published in 1972 in the New York Time it is written: “”He [President Nixon] spoke of the talks as a beginning, saying nothing more about the prospects for future contacts and merely reiterating the belief he brought to China that both nations share an interest in peace and building ‘a new world order.'” (Excerpt from an article in The New York Times (February 1972))
