California Love
A college student at California’s Fresno State University was arrested after being caught allegedly having sex with a sheep. The student was caught in the school’s agricultural barn at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Fresno Bee reports. [1] Police were called to the school’s Sheep Unit early in the morning and say they found a fifth-year computer engineering student — whose name has not been released — on top of a ewe with his pants down. The 23-year-old allegedly first claimed he was just “wrestling cattle,” according to KMPH. [2] When cops helpfully informed him that there were no cattle around, they say he tried to use the stellar excuse that he was “stressed” and was merely beating and punching the sheep. [3] The Indenpendent reports that he was found by police officers lying on top of the sheep with his underpants down. [4] Police say upon further questioning, the student finally admitted he was engaged in sexual intercourse with the animal, but told them it was his first time and he had been drinking previously. [5] The student also asked, “Am I going to be expelled for this?” He is charged with sexual assault of an animal. The sheep is being treated and monitored by a veterinarian, according to ABC 7. [6] The animal, which campus officials say is one of many used in the ag program 4-H for breeding clubs and for their wool, according to Fresno’s website. [7] Student Marisa Burkdoll, whose job it is to take care of the animals at the sheep unit, told KFSN she first heard of the incident through social media and could not have been more horrified [8] and called for the male accused to be thrown into jail. [HH] Other students, by way of a Twitter account that has appeared in the sheep’s name, have called for the student’s expulsion. [9] Veterinarians are now keeping close watch over the assaulted sheep, reported KABC-TV. [10]
