A highly modified transhumanist DJ known as “Devil Man” has spent the last 11 years turning himself into a menacing creature with black eyes and develish horns. This excentric Devil Man even has black tattooed eyeballs and horn implants on his forehead and arms in order to scare the hell out of the normal law abiding citizen. With his menacing tattoos and blacked out eyeballs you certainly wouldn’t want to bump into Caim Mortis on a dark night. But this isn’t just a Halloween costume, for Caim his look is a way of life. [1] Caim loves looking different from everyone else. As a result of his fiendish body overhaul, Caim’s devout Catholic family rejected him and he moved from Colombia to Mexico where people are more accepting. [2] You may think that his parent went a little bit rough on him but, Halloween or not, even the most liberal among you, as open minded you think you are, would’t want to have Caim Mortis trick or treating outside your house asking for sweets. [3] Like Caim, lots of people want to stand out from the crowd, and it helps him in his jobs as a tattoo artists and body painter.
When people first see me their normal reaction is to be shocked or amazed. The first thing they ask me is “does it hurt?” or “who did this to you?” One of the key motivations for my own body modifications has been to be unique and different compared to others in the world. Body modification culture has been around for ages, it is not just a fashion or a temporary fad although people presume it is. [4]
Fittingly, he is also launching his new career as a DJ this Halloween and is touring with another DJ, Gisella, who will play the part of an angel to his devil. “I have always been heavily into music, especially Latin styles, EDM and world fusion and I have been training as a DJ for many months,” said Caim. “I am excited to bring this unique concept and theme and people will definitely enjoy our show.” [5]
