Town In Switzerland Presents Naked Performance Art Festival

swissgangbangopensky Town In Switzerland Presents Naked Performance Art Festival swissgangbangopenskyBiel, a small, picturesque town in Switzerland, debuts their first “Body and Freedom Naked Festival, all in the name of art. The festival, which takes place August 21-22, intends to “initiate a change” and will feature performance art with plenty of naked Knockwurst.  According to its organizers, “Regarding acceptance in public space, the naked body appears to remain taboo.”  The festival “aims to explore the possibilities of the naked body in urban space and everyday situational life, thereby contributing to its establishment in this context as an instrument of art expression.”   About twenty projects from various countries will take part, “working with nude bodies where pedestrian circulation, the architectural environment and ground surface are an integral part. It will utilize public space as a platform for interaction and statement. The vulnerability of the naked body and its strength and charisma should be visualized within the tensional interplay of civilized urbanity and raw nature,” says the show’s manifesto.   For anyone planning on going, the crowd sourcing site wemakeit offers a $920 “package” that includes joining the “naked procession” and joining the founders for a “naked lunch.”
